The passion

To sing and play. To share culture and classical vocal art all over the place, out and about, up and down, in all directions, experiment.

Hang out in nature. Be a part of the community. Meditate.

Connect people and themes, get to know people, eat a cinnamon bun, sugar free maybe. Learn, teach and mediate. Laugh, rejoice, get tears in my eyes and dance like no one is watching.

The stars of the show were two Nordic singers with established stage personalities: a Terfel-like Swedish baritone Magnus Bilström and Icelandic mezzo Guja Sandholt who with her partner Carolyn Johnson-Wu formed the outstanding duo, singing Duparc.“

- Peter Schofield’s review of Oxford Lieder Festival

“Guja sang a few songs from Jórunn Viðar with admirable power and technical security. The last song, Vökuró, which Björk Guðmundsdóttir made world famous, was particularly gripping. It was intimate, vulnerable and bittersweet; there was a dreamlike, nostalgic atmosphere which was extremely persuading.“
